Who makes Dura Supreme

According to Dura Supreme, the company was founded in 1954 by Don Stotts, who began crafting cabinetry in his Minnesota garage after serving as a Navy Seabee. His son Keith Stotts grew the company over the years that followed.

Today, according to Dura Supreme, the manufacturing headquarters is in Howard Lake, Minnesota, in a 200,000-square-foot facility that employs over 500 people after ten facility expansions. Dura Supreme states that its cabinetry is proudly made in the USA with globally sourced components. The company emphasizes sustainable materials and environmentally sound manufacturing, and in 2024 Dura Supreme became part of the MasterBrand family. According to Dura Supreme, the company received Top Honors in Manufacturing Excellence in the 2018 Wooden Globe Awards.

Framed, frameless, semi-custom, full custom

According to Dura Supreme, the company offers both framed and frameless cabinetry, with semi-custom to full custom capabilities. In plain terms, framed cabinetry has a visible face frame around the front of the cabinet box, a traditional look that adds strength and a classic profile. Frameless cabinetry has no face frame, so the doors sit closer together for a sleeker, more modern appearance and slightly more interior access.

Semi-custom means you start from a set of standard sizes and finishes and can adjust many of the details to fit your room. Full custom means the cabinetry can be built to your exact specifications. According to Dura Supreme, both options are available across its framed and frameless construction.

How you choose it

Choosing Dura Supreme follows the same process every Ashland Cabinet project follows. It starts with an in-home consultation, where we come to your home, measure, and listen to what you want to change. Then we create a design and a cost picture so you can see the plan and the price together. Next is a design appointment in our Southborough showroom, where you choose cabinet styles, colors, and hardware. We produce a 3D rendering so you can see the result before a single cabinet is ordered, and our own in-house installation crews install your cabinets.
